What do we know so far?
With just a few trial results published, the outlook of a vaccine is promising. There are two main vaccines in the running:
The Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, which creators announced was 90% effective after stage three trials. Forty million doses have been ordered by the British Government which the Prime Minister says will vaccinate one third of the population. This is set to be given to the most vulnerable people in the UK.
Secondly is the Moderna vaccine, which is showing nearly 95% protection. Five million doses (enough to vaccinate 2.5 million people) will be available from next spring if it is successful.
The Government’s strategy is to set up mass vaccine centres to inoculate the people, as well as plans for large and small mobile sites, while GP surgeries and pharmacies will also be used and roving teams of healthcare professionals will visit care homes and people who are housebound.

Our carriers can be used in a variety of settings, they are lightweight and easy to carry, a great solution for nurses that need to make home-visits to give immunisations and as the Vaccine Carriers are insulated, the contents will stay at the correct temperature for up to 12 hours. They come in a variety of sizes with the largest having an internal capacity of 35 litres, ideal for mobile sites and larger inoculation centres.

This will allow responsible persons to maintain a chain-of-custody, ensuring accountability when vaccinations are being transported to various locations. They provide a simple, cost effective alternative to refrigeration of vaccines during the time when mass administration is needed. With 6, 18 and 35 litre carry options available, each capable of accommodating additional cooling packs to extend the thermal duration and a temperature monitor pocket, all secured by the Versapak Tamper Evident T2 system.
